I can hardly believe that we are already midway through the fall. I have really enjoyed getting to know all the great people here at Walden. It’s easy to see why our students enjoy school. From Mrs. Kramer’s art-laden walls to the shouts and laughter from the playground, it’s easy to see that Walden is a place for kids. I want to thank all the parents who make Walden a part of their life, whether it’s the daily carpool lines, bringing snack to the class or reading to the children, your commitment level serves as a reminder to your children that their education and family is a top priority.
Congratulations to our Lower School Girl’s Volleyball teams on a great season. As we work to create opportunities for our students, it’s good to see such commitment at the lower school level. If you haven’t yet gotten the opportunity, please feel free to browse our website. We are very close to having all lower school teachers posting newsletters, class content and pictures on their personal websites. In addition, we are now sending home a weekly lower school newsletter along with individual classroom news. The purpose of the lower school newsletter is to provide class information from specialists, important dates, suggested reading and updates on lower school education. I would like to increase the amount of student information, congratulations, achievements, milestones, so if you have any suggestions or topics you would like addressed, please feel free to let me know.
As we move closer and closer to the holiday season, please note the following dates and information. November 18 is the date for our next Lower School Coffee. Please watch the newsletter for more information. On November 21 our Cafeteria and All-Purpose room will be draped in elegance and seasonal trimmings as Walden hosts its annual All-School Thanksgiving Day Dinner. On this special day kindergarten through twelfth grade feasts together to celebrate the holiday. Grandparent’s day will find our halls filled with song on November 25 beginning at 8 a.m.
