I hope your summer has gone well for you all. My first few weeks here at Walden have been busy but rewarding. The summertime casual influx of parents and teachers has allowed me to meet many new and friendly faces while gathering a wealth of understanding about Walden and its close community. As always, I can be reached here at Walden at 893-0433.

I am looking forward to meeting many of the Lower School families Tuesday, August 5 for a welcome and ice cream reception. The event will allow families the opportunity to meet my family and me in an informal setting with plenty of cold ice cream on a hot summer evening.

Monday August 18's "Meet Your Desk Night" will give parents the chance to meet teachers, roam the halls and inhabit the classrooms of Walden School. In addition, the fears, cheers and tears of kindergarten parents will certainly take center stage during Kindergarten Parent Orientation later that evening, Monday August 18 at 9 a.m. All our Kindergarten parents are encouraged to attend.

Our first Lower School Coffee will take place Wednesday, September 3 at 8:00 a.m. in the Walden Dining Room. Our first topic will be address educational philosophies with a focus on the Walden Mission, my philosophy and examining our own beliefs.

Class lists and schedules are continuing to be finalized and proofed. Be sure to check your mail and our website for more information during these waning days of vacation.
