Walden Birthday

 Book Club

You can celebrate your child’s birthday in a special way and help our library collection continue to grow by joining the Walden School Birthday Book Club.

Participation in the program involves a $15 donation per book. For this donation your child may select a new book from the Birthday Bookshelf located in the library office. The inside front cover of the book will have his or her name and birth date inscribed on a bookplate. The birthday child also gets a pencil and a picture of themselves with their book. See Mrs. Sewell in the library for details.

THE BOOK QUEEN

The Book Queen visits classes in the lower school letting children check out “Book Queen Books.” These books are checked out separately of library books and may be returned to the Book Queen (Mrs. Sewell) when finished.  There will be small prizes awarded to those children that complete the Book Queen Report and return it to the Library.

This is an optional activity to promote reading and can coincide with their regular 20-30 minutes of reading per night.

The Book Queen, Red Riding Hood, Granny and the Big Bad Wolverine visited Lower School classes.

THE GALACTIC CAFÉ

Lower and Middle School students came to the library for lunch and to discuss the book,
